Hello! I’m Melody Hwang, a multidisciplinary designer exploring the intersection of materiality, color, computational design, and digital fabrication through built work and experimental processes.

I hold a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and have lived and worked across Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Houston, and Austin. My professional journey spans architecture, experiential and interior design, computational design, design-build, and digital fabrication.

In my creative work, I strive to bring a sense of whimsy and vibrant color into everything I make, exploring geometry and pattern to create designs that feel both cohesive and expressive. I'm especially interested in figuring out how to get something built and enjoy the process of turning ideas into reality.

Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and my dog, Cleo. I'm drawn to media that moves me—whether it makes me laugh, cry, or see the world a little differently. Whenever I can, I travel to new cities to experience different cultures, landscapes, cuisines, and built environments. I'm always looking for new experiences and fresh ways to nurture creativity and bring more joy into my life.
